Brian McConville
Brian McConville is the owner and Chair of MJM Group. MJM Group comprises of trading businesses- MJM Marine, Mivan and Topglass and is primarily engaged in the high-end marine and land based construction sectors. The McConville family also own an extensive property portfolio which includes Damolly Retail Park in Newry, Clarence Chambers and Pearl Assurance House on Donegall Square East in Belfast and a range of other commercial, retail and residential properties. MJM Marine based in Newry is one of the world’s leading cruise line refit companies and works in partnership with the largest cruise line operators in the world on their rolling refurbishment programmes. Brian acquired the assets of Mivan following its 2014 administration and this strategic acquisition expanded the family’s remit into land based fit out operations. Mivan has a longstanding reputation of working on some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK as well as marine projects. The family purchased Topglass, based in Toomebridge in 2018. Topglass is a longstanding specialist glass supplier to MJM and Mivan and was a natural fit for the growing portfolio. Brian is married to Connie and they have four children, three of whom are active in MJM Group. A keen horseman and farmer, Brian has led the local hunt and he has also competed at Dublin Horseshow in the past. In the relatively short space of 35 years Brian McConville and his team have become world leaders in their industry from a standing start. MJM marked its 35th Anniversary in 2018 with a charity cruise from Belfast following the completion of the fit out of the Azamara Pursuit for Royal Caribbean. This was the first cruise line refit of its scale undertaken in recent years in Belfast and the project was delivered on budget and ahead of time. The charity Cruise raised £160k for local charities.
